The sound of a generation
A distant world enclosed in a word full of meanings, facets and interpretations, yet dry, that quickly strikes the ears of the listener. And catapults him, literally, into a place and time recognizable like few in history.
It was the 50s. The years when being young meant, perhaps for the first time, affirming the power of dreams and imagination. And the first popular icons began to be created that would influence that generation, as well as many that followed.
When we thought about the project of this bicycle, it seemed natural to be inspired by the imagery and music of those years. However, in our search for something clear, powerful, definitive, we went beyond faces, names, colors. What we were looking for, we found in a sound imprint. Instrumental, vocal. In a word, epochal.
Twang, is the typical tone of the most representative guitars of those years. Harmonically rich, dominant on the lower frequencies, full of reverb like the engine of a Hot Rod
Twang is the nasal, vibrant accent, dominated by the broad resonance of vowels, so characteristic of the American South. Where the voices of country and rockabilly were born, and the new poets of the jukebox celebrated that new, intoxicating sense of limitlessness. On the road, in love, in the world.
Twang, for us, is the spirit of loving to ride a bicycle with the lightness, hope and enthusiasm of those unforgettable years. Of those who are not afraid of the boundless spaces before them.
Flight becomes supersonic
Not even the sky is the limit anymore. The 50s mark the beginning of the era of jet aircraft, capable of transforming the air sucked in into thrust force. Breaking the sound barrier is no longer a mirage, elegant mechanical marvels cross the sky, powered by the propulsion of ingenuity and imagination.
In our project, we were inspired by the study of many aircraft of that era , as different from each other as they were united by a single, irresistible characteristic : that combination of a pioneering, unprejudiced, almost nervous character, and the harmony of a decisive but refined, we would dare say aristocratic design.
